The Filipino Flash is set to face the Bantamweight King on Sunday, February 20 (Philippine time) at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.
Nonito Donaire is facing Fernando Montiel for the WBC and WBO bantamweight belts, with the former as a challenger.

Nonita Donaire called as the "The Filipino Flash" holds a fight record of 25 wins and 1 loss. Out of his 25 wins, 17 come by way of knock outs. He is presently ranked number 6 on Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound list. He also comes out from a spectacular knock out victory against Vladimir Sidorenko.
Nonito said of his upcoming fight,
“Siguro, early rounds masasabi ko. Siguro before 6 [rounds, I can knock him out].”
Fernando Montiel:
Fernando Montiel is known as the bantamweight king and had given loses to several Filipino boxers. He stands with a boxing record of 44 wins, 2 losses and 2 draws. Out of his 44 wins, 34 are knockouts.
Montiel said that he respects Donaire but if the latter wants to knock him out in round 6, he will knock out the Filipino Flash in round 1.
"He is a good fighter but I think he was better at either 112 or 115. We'll see how good he is at 118 and that will show in the ring."
