Azkals vs Nepal Game: The Philippine National Football team is all ready as they face Nepal tonight for the FIFA-sanctioned international friendly match. The game will be held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila and is the first international friendly match hosted by the Philippines in 14 years. After a 0-2 loss against Singapore days ago, the Azkals promised that they will do everything to defend Rizal against Nepal which is 135th in the world.
Coach Michael Weiss said that his boys are ready and are all fired up come game time.
"Despite the loss and negative outcome of the game, I think we should be patient here and take these matches seriously. Of course, considering the result but more in keeping with our team trying to develop, give them time to play together to be stronger."
Despite being a friendly match, the performance of each team for the Philippines vs Nepal game will still carry some weight as it will also give some cue for FIFA on giving its world standing for the two countries.
The Philippine Azkals is at the 166th place in the world.
Nepal on the other hand promised to give the Azkals a tough time with its young roster of players.
Nepal’s team members have the average age of 22.
Its British coach Graham Roberts said in an interview,
"We will play for the win.”
The game will start at 7PM and will be aired live by Studio 23.
