It is official and Fox announced that comedienne and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is all ready to replace Paula Abdul on American Idol for Season 9. She will join past American Idol Judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi.
Ellen DeGeneres is obviously excited on her new job trying to dissipate some frustrations of fans saying:
"Hopefully, I'm the people's point of view because I'm just like you. I sit at home and I watch it, and I don't have that technical ... I'm not looking at it in a critical way from the producer's mind. I'm looking at it as a person who is going to buy the music and is going to relate to that person."
Though Ellen DeGeneres is a first-timer on American Idol and has no in-depth training and exposure to the music industry other than as a music lover, she is expected to bring a whole new dimension to the show.

photo by hamptonroads After a hard-day's work, its American Idol time for me during thursdays and fridays, with some chips and a good lazy position on the couch.
And its now down to the Top 9 contestants on Season 8 of American Idol.
Singing all-time classics from MoTown that celebrates 50 golden years of making music, the big man with a gentle voice from Texas did not end to have a golden night at all. It is time to go back to native Texas as Michael Sarver did not impress the judges with his performance last night, that immediately sent the clear message to all those watching that it is simply time to say goodbye for the oil rig roughneck. "You don't have a chance of winning." Were the blunt words of Simon Cowell, that said it all for the father of two, despite his good start during Hollywood week.
Being in the botton three with Scott MacIntyre and Matt Giruad, his rendition of "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" was just not enough with all four judges, unanimously aggreing that he sounded "too corny". Simon's remark, "You're going home. Sorry." was the last blow to Michael's dream.
And it is down to eight hopefulls: Adam Lambert (who is my personal favorite), Allison Iraheta, Danny Gokey, Anoop Desai, Kris Allen, Lil Rounds, Matt Giraud, Scott MacIntyre and Megan Corkey.
Well, more weeks to watch and for me, there is no other winner as early now but Adam Lambert. How about you, who is your bet this season?
