AFC Challenge Cup 2012 Schedule: Despite the controversy of sexual harassment case filed against two Azkals players, our Philippine National Football Team are already in Kathmandu, Nepal for the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup.
They arrived in Kathmandu last Friday, five days before the tournament starts in order to make themselves more familiar with the weather condition in the high-altitude state.
Temperature in Kathmandu ranges from 7 to 24 degrees.
The game of the Philippine Azkals will start on March 9 against a tough team of North Korea at the Halchowk Stadium. North Korea once qualified to the World Cup.
With tough teams on their group, former champions of the tournament, the Azkals will rely heavily on its veteran players. However, there is still a cloud of uncertainty if Chieffy Caligdong, Dennis Cagara and Stephan Schrock could play.
Caligdong suffered from an injured knee.
Below is the schedule of matches for the Philippine Azkals:
March 9: 2012 AFC Challenge Cup North Korea vs Philippines
March 11: 2012 AFC Challenge Cup India vs Philippines
March 13: 2012 AFC Challenge Cup Tajikistan vs Philippines
Best of luck to our Pinoy booters! Games will hopefully be aired live on ABS-CBN/IWantTV.
