Philippine Azkals vs LA Galaxy: Football is really getting the momentum it
needs as the sport is becoming popular, though still very far behind the likes
of basketball and boxing.
On December 3, our very own National Football Team or now
more popularly known as the Philippine Azkals will face the Los Angeles Galaxy
in a friendly match. The game will
happen at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The LA Galaxy is no push over of course, as it is one of the
most popular football teams in the United States. The reason of course is having the English
football superstar David Beckham on its line up.
Aside of course from Beckham who said that he is very
excited to be in the country and play against our boys, are two superstars who
are also playing – Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane. The presence of this two players come the
December 3 match against the Azkals was personally assured by Galaxy president
Tom Payne.
For the Philippines, expected to play are the Younghusbands,
the striker Chieffy Caligdong, Simon Greathwich, Ray Jonsson, Rob Gier, though the final
line-up will be released by Coach Michael Weiss soon; maybe after he gets back
from the 2011 SEA Games in Indonesia.

The tickets for this match are a bit pricey (ticket infos here), so for all those who cannot watch this game live at the Rizal Memorial
Stadium, we could content ourselves with watching the game live on Studio 23.
