One most notable part of the Inauguration speech of Pres. Noynoy Aquino is the issue regarding the use of wang-wang or sirens by government officials. This results to the ill-will of people caught in traffic while a wang-wang convoy just passes through them in a breeze.
After Noynoy Aquino’s speech, a fan page on Facebook Isumbong Mo ang Wang Wang Dito was put up in order for ordinary citizens to report their experience of this abusive practice of politicians.
Though Vice-President Jejomar Binay does not totally agree with Pres. Aquino’s order, the order will still stick as the Philippine National Police has already ordered the stoppage of the use of sirens of police escorts to politicians.
The Land Transportation Office of LTO has also activated and moreover promoted their hotlines for people to report anyone using the sirens without any authorization.
