How to Apply for the GSIS Scholarship, Requirements, Benefits

My sister is a GSIS scholar, and that scholarship is a big help for her studies especially that education more so on private schools and universities in the Philippines is so expensive.

Her GSIS Scholarship gives her P20,000 tuition fee every semester and P2,000 monthly allowance. Now, she is going third year with her business course at La Salle Bacolod. Something that can greatly help parents though most of the time, the allowance and the tuition fee shouldered by this government agency arrives very late.

GSIS is the one who chose those who are qualified for scholarships after screening all applications and requirements. This year, GSIS is asking for more donors for the scholarship fund, so that it can send more Filipino students to school and have their own degrees.

Here is the official communication of the media fund from their advertisement on newspapers:

“Help someone’s scholastic dreams become a reality through the 2010 GSIS Scholarship Program. The scholar of your choice can enjoy up to P20,000 tuition and miscellaneous fees per semester, and monthly stipend of P2,000.

All active GSIS members of good standing are eligible to join. Winners who will be chosen via an electronic raffle may nominate ANYONE who is an incoming college freshman or enrolled college student. There are 200 slots available.
