Marquez vs Sabaupan: Juan Manuel Marquez is not going to fight Manny Pacquiao for
a fourth time. At least, not yet.
This despite all the speculations surrounding the result of
the Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 and the most recent match of Pac-man against American
boxer Timothy Bradley Jr. Marquez’s
started to surface as the next possible opponent of Manny Pacquiao, but the
Mexican technical master has other things to do.
Marquez is set to fight a Filipino boxer in Al Sabaupan, a
Pacquiao look-a-like on July 21. The
match is going to be staged in front of his supporters in Mexico City for the WBO light welterweight
title.
Marquez holds a fight record of 54-6-1 and 39 KOs . On the other
hand, Al Sabaupan holds the record of 19-1 and 14 Kos ,
and is reigning IBF Pan-Pacific champ.
According to Saved by the Bell Promotions president Elmer
Anuran, who handles Sabaupan, Marquez is still a very dangerous fighter despite
his age.
“The itch to fight the legendary Pacquiao remains strong for Juan Manuel and I believe that he will settle for a Pacman dead ringer,” added Anuran.
Marquez is 38 years old while Sabaupan is just 24.
Anuran expressed that his boy will have to climb a mountain, even as high compared to
