The Commission on Higher Education or CHED strongly supports research thrusts from all educational institutions more so from tertiary level educational centers in the Philippines.In accordance with the Republic Act (R.A.) 7722 or the Higher Education Act of 1994, CHED is given the mandate on rationalizing and making ways of aiding research grants CHED-Higher Education Development Fund (HEDF.)
Through a specific memorandum from the Office of the President of the Philippines, CHED has come with guidelines, criteria and qualifications for CHED-funded researches aside from the different research thrusts that CHED has identified on different regions in the country.
