BP, the company that is in hot waters with one of the biggest environmental disaster that has hit the United States has soften its stance and gave in to the demands of Congress through Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA) to show a live feed video of the BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The oil spill live feed will particularly bring in for the people to see the “top kill” effort by BP to plug and stop the oil from gushing in to the ocean.
BP and all other government agencies are trying their best to stop the leaking of oil from the BP offshore platform that exploded as the oil spill has already been seen to be moving and moving into a wider direction of the gulf.
Recent underwater videos showed that the amount of oil and plume has been increasing underwater and could spell out disaster of unimaginable proportion.
The latest of these attempts by BP is to use a “top kill” method to plug the leak with which the procedure is to pour into the leaking pipe a combination of heavy cement and mud to plug it up.
Rep. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) learned though that BP will try to kill the live feed when they do the "top kill" procedure.
"It is outrageous that BP would kill the video feed for the top kill. This BP blackout will obscure a vital moment in this disaster. After more than a month of spewing oil into the Gulf of Mexico, BP is essentially saying to the American people the solution will not be televised. No one wants to interfere with the operations during the top kill. With those preparations mostly done, now the world should see whether or not this strategy works, and we should see it in real time.”
