Black Sabbath’s front man rocker Ronnie James Dio died at the age of 67 after he succumb from stomach cancer.
Dio’s publicist shared the sad news after an official statement of the raocker’s wife was posted online.
“My heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45 a.m.”
Dio is known to have a great operatic voice with the combined great music emanating from Black Sabbath’s hard core rock music. He is mostly credited by rock music affionados with popularizing the two-fingered “Devil’s horn” gesture.
Dio is born Ronald James Padavona in 1942 in Portsmouth, N.H. and joined Black Sabbath in 1979 after its frontman Ozzy Osborne left the group. From then one, Dio’s career soared with sold-out concerts and high album sales.
