Seihi or Seiji Ozawa, 74, the famous Japanese conductor has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
His illness was known after having a medical check up last month and has so cancelled all his schedules for the next 6 months in order to undergo treatment. Some of these schedules a concert in Vienna State Opera on Jan. 15.
Ozawa has been musical director of Vienna State Opera and has nearly 30 long years of colorful musical career at the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
