Smart Gilas Team is a development team by the Philippines on the sports of basketball formed in 2009, in preparation for the 2012 London Olympics. It is handled by the SBP or Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas and duly sponsored by Smart Communications through its program Smarts Sports. Smart Gilas is being coached by Rajko Toroman who made a basketball team of Iran, and trained on an international style of basketball and set of rules.
