Despite having big problems with its China operations, search-engine giant Google (verb) was chosen as the word of the decade of the American Dialect Society (ADS).
While it means “to search the internet with pertinent useful information”, Google is also the biggest most influential search-engine company in the world.
Another web company that has skyrocketed on 2009 was also chosen to be the word of year 2009. Tweeter is the top word of the previous as millions of people has used the micro-messaging system. This despite the fact that a university in the United States also considered the words “tweet” as one of the banned words of 2009.
