Gaines Adams, 26, the fourth overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2007 NFL Draft was pronounced dead at a South Carolina Hospital after suffering from a heart attack due to a fatal cardiac arrest.
No foul play has been said on the death and "is believed to have passed away in his sleep from heart attack".
The Bears statement on Gaines Adams death:
"We are stunned and saddened by the news of Gaines' passing. Our prayers are with his family during this difficult time."
