After the New York Yankees took home their 27th World Series title by beating the Phillies, its home town New York City is set to hold a festive welcome and a parade for the baseball champs on Friday morning.
The victory parade for the Yankees 2009 is said to be hosted by the city of New York with its reelected Mayor Bloomberg sending his congratulations.
The ticker-tape parade 2009 for the New York Yankees “will begin on Broadway at Battery Place at 11 a.m. and continue uptown along the Canyon of Heroes to Chambers Street. Then, a ceremony will be held at City Hall Plaza, where Mayor Michael Bloomberg will present the Bronx Bombers with the Keys to the City.”
The ticker-tape parade for the New York Yankees this year is expected to draw out millions of fans and New Yorkers on the streets to welcome their hometown heroes in a festive celebration while the city will provide giant TV screens for other spectators to see the ceremonies from there.
I have been an avid fan of the Yankees and since I was small have worn caps and shirts with Yankees logos in them. Hope to have that rare opportunity to watch one of their games even if it is not a World Series Championship.
