A blockbuster trade was reportedly sealed according to several sports sites on Monday.

The rumors surrounding the expiring contract of Carmelo Anthony on Denver Nuggets has stirred lots of speculations as to where he is headed to next. Other writers were saying that he could get an extension in Denver or he may be going to New Jersey Nets. But a trade to New York Knicks (which boasts of lots of cash to spend for a super star player to be added on their roster) is the one that was seen to happen.

And it did. Carmelo Anthony and Billups are traded to New York Knicks in a blockbuster deal together with some other players.

But the big time trade deal is not limited to Denver and New York but reports said it is a three-way trade deal. Timberwolves is said to be the other NBA included in the negotiations.



Eddy Curry and Anthony Randolph will be sent to the Minnesota Timberwolves. On the other hand, Corey Brewer is reported to be headed to New York Knicks to join Anthony; though earlier Brewer was rumored to be going to the Denver Nuggets squad.

With the trade deal, New York Knicks becomes a stronger team as the NBA is heading to the playoffs just after the most recent 2011 All Star Weekend in New York.

But the important question is: will Corey Brewer get enough playing time with Knicks?

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Sunday that there will be traffic re-routing schemes to be implemented on February 25 during the 25th anniversary of People Power.

February 25 was declared as school holiday and it will be expected that there will be congestion on EDSA for the celebration at the EDSA Shrine.

MMDA said on its announcement,

"Closure starts from the Service Road along EDSA after Ortigas Avenue northbound. Two lanes from EDSA-Ortigas flyover (are) still passable up to Aguinaldo Gate.”

Other details:

Northbound lanes Ortigas Avenue - Santolan - partially (12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m.); completely closed (6 a.m. to 9 a.m); partially closed (with two passable inner lanes) (9 a.m. onwards)

To quote from GMANews, below is the alternate route on EDSA northbound lane:

“Right to McKinley Road to C5 to destination - Right at Kalayaan Avenue to C5 to destination - Take Rockwell flyover, (turn) left to Estrella and use Estrella/Pantaleon Bridge, which is now open to traffic - Right at J.P. Rizal Avenue to C5 to destination - Right at Pioneer Street to C5 to destination - Right at Shaw Boulevard to C5 to destination - Right at J. Vargas Avenue to C5 to destination

Along Ortigas Avenue: - Left turning traffic from Greenhills to EDSA must go straight along Ortigas Avenue to destination - Right turning traffic from Meralco Avenue must go straight to Greenhills to destination”

The biggest social network to date boasts of more than half a billion users and most recently a multi-awarded movie.

But Facebook’s fame has gone a notch higher after a couple from a country most recently experiencing political turmoil has named their baby daughter “Facebook.”

Yes, you have read it right.

An Egyptian couple named their baby daughter Facebook as a tribute to the social networking site after the social networking giant served as a great way of igniting the most recently uprising in Egypt against their 30-year ruler Mubarak. President Mubarak most recently resigned and Egypt’s government is in transition under the military rule.



The father was reportedly a young man who is on his twenties. The name of his daughter is a tribute to the active role of the youth during the January 25. The daughter’s name is "Facebook" Jamal Ibrahim.

Among those who actively participated in the movement to oust Mubarak was Google executive Wael Ghonim. Twitter, Facebook and the internet as a whole served as great means for the organizers to increase their strength and ultimately get their triumph against a long-time ruler.

I wonder if soon we will soon hear a baby named Jose Twitter.

New Zealand was hit by magnitude 6.3 earthquake on Tuesday afternoon, February 22, according to several news sites.

The 6.3 New Zealand earthquake hit in particular South Island and its city Christchurch. Epicenter of the earthquake was recorded with a depth of 5 kilometers and its location was at Lyttelton.

The strong earthquake was even felt as far as Dunedin and Wellington.

Some infrastructures were damaged said several local news reports in New Zealand. A church in Christchurch collapsed while a bridge was badly damaged that it was deemed impassable. Christchurch Cathedral was damaged said several locals. Going to the area through plane is also difficult at this moment as the airport has been shut down and many roads were reported damaged.

The Canterbury region registers a population of around half a million.

Prime Minister John Key announced that death toll due to the earthquake stand at 65. He said that this number could still rise as recovery operation and reports of people trapped on collapsed buildings are still being verified by authorities.

Rescue operations are on-going and authorities are expected also to released updates on damages, casualties and other efforts to help out many of those whose homes were in total wreck.

Christchurch hospital is also expecting many women to go on premature delivery as an effect of the earthquake.

The United Kingdom reportedly also sent some help while rescue and recovery operations are on-going.

Rumors about Denver Nuggets superstar player Carmelo Anthony to be traded has been the talk of the town. Even during the 2011 NBA All Star weekend, sports commentators covering the series of activities and events could not help but speak up their minds about the Carmelo Anthony trade issue.

Today, Denver Post together with several news sites said Carmelo Anthony is to be traded to New York Knocks in a big time deal.

The report said that Anthony is going to New York together with Shelden Williams, Chauncey Billups, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman. On the other hand, Denver Nuggets will get Timofey Mozgov, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Raymond Felton.



A three-way deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves was also noted said ESPN on its report.

In an interview, Karl George, Nuggets head coach said:

"I'm glad its over. I'm glad it's an opportunity to reinvent. I think everybody handled it as classy as you could handle it. There's some sadness to it, there always will be."

With all these talks however, the New Jersey Nets is still optimistic that they could get Anthony to beef up its players.

Of course, we will soon hear details of the reported blockbuster trade deal.

Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire won a spectacular second round TKO over bantamweight king Fernando Montiel on Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The knockout stunned the Mexican-dominated crowd and Donaire took home the WBC and WBO bantamweight belts.

The knockout punch was simply spectacular. Donaire during the first round showed his speed and power and edged from Montiel as he hit the Mexican with some powerful punches. During the second round, Montiel tried to be aggressive pressing on Donaire. But Donaire countered Montiel with left hook that sent the Mexican down the canvass. The referee counted and Montiel had even stood up though was obviously wobbling from the punch he took. As the referee told the two fighters to continue fighting, Donaire barged unto Montiel with two punches and the referee immediately stepped into stop the fight.

The new record of Donaire now stands at 26-1 with 18 knockouts.



That left hook that knocked out Montiel is the very same punch that knocked out Vic Darchinyan and most recently Vladimir Sidorenko.

People are now asking if Donaire is going to stay at 118 lbs or move in weight and conquer other fighters like the very popular Puerto Rican boxer Juan Manuel Lopez. But I guess, for now, there is nothing to do but celebrate.

The popular Guitar Hero will soon be laid to rest although the company initially planned for a 2011 release.

Activision through an official statement said:

"Due to continued declines in the music genre, the company will disband Activision Publishing's Guitar Hero business unit and discontinue development on its Guitar Hero game for 2011…These decisions are based on the desire to focus on the greatest opportunities that the company currently has to create the world's best interactive entertainment experiences."

The halting of the production of this music game was attributed to poor sales. And aside from Guitar Hero, the same company has also stopped the development of an action game called True Crime: Hong Kong this year.

But the effect of this news is most devastating not to all those who love Guitar Hero or music games, but to Activision’s 500 employees who will laid off.

Everyone is already abuzz in the world wide web about the upcoming release of the iPad 2.

I was reading some messages from my Twitter when someone posted a note for people not to buy yet an iPad coz iPad2 is coming real soon. I got the point, and could be a wise move especially that the new version of the iPad is said to sport new features and upgrade.

Anyways, with the iPad2 not yet in the market, a new rumor about Apple’s latest gadget is gathering fire.

The new talk of the tech town is that of the iPad3.



Several tech blogs had already ran stories and articles about the iPad3 that they said would be unveiled this fall.

According to TechCrunch:

“We've now heard that this "fall surprise" is related to this would-be iPad 3. We don't have any more concrete information beyond that. But, as of right now, the plan is apparently to release one iteration of the iPad in the next few weeks. And then blow the doors open with another new version in the fall.

But Apple has a history of not resting on their laurels. That's perhaps the key reason why they've been so successful in recent years. And that's exactly why they strike with the iPad 3 in the fall.

Now, I have no details as to what this iPad 3 would include. But one very solid guess is a retina-like display that the iPhone 4 currently has. There's obviously been many rumors of this for the iPad 2, but it's not happening yet. But perhaps it could this fall. Another, slightly smaller form factor will clearly be another guess. Steve Jobs has famously played down that idea in the past -- but he often does that and turns around with an offering."

If this is true, the release of iPad3 is quite real quick huh. Apple seems to be in a rush. To shut up restive shareholders of the company as to the status of Steve Jobs and the succession issue?

Michael Jordan has a statue that was bought on a TV show most recently.

During the Jimmy Kimmel Live! that was aired on February 10, the tv show host bought some odd objects that included a Michael Jordan statue. The statue of the famous NBA player cost around $650.

However, people were left scratching their heads after the Michael Jordan statue sports a 32 as a jersey number.

Jordan is best remembered to have worn number 23 as an NBA player. He had also worn number 45 for sometime.

But why number 23?

Some people said that the statue had 32 instead of 23 due to concerns of copyright and trademark.

Facebook, in a move to accommodate a growing number of users with different relationship statuses and communities, has added to more options for users to choose from.

Facebook added new relationship status options for users to choose for their user profiles. The two new relationship statuses are "in a domestic partnership" and "in a civil union."

The new options are to be made available by the social networking giant in US, UK, France, Canada and Australia starting Thursday.



Andrew Noyes, Facebook’s manager of public policy communications said of the new options:

"This has been a highly requested feature from users. We want to provide options for people to genuinely and authentically reflect their relationships on Facebook."

One of the groups that Facebook reportedly consulted for this new profile feature is a group of that includes LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] organizations.

Reports circulated that O.J. Simpson suffered some hard beating during a prison attack while he was at a correctional facility in Nevada.

The report was read in The National Enquirer on Tuesday that Simpson was attacked. The superstar athlete was said to have fallen unconscious as a result of the beating he suffered and that he was made to stay on an infirmary for at least three weeks.

Simpson allegedly was kicked, punched and knocked on the ground and so suffered several injuries. The report further indicated that authorities tried to keep the incident secret.




However, a report by USA Today said that the whole O.J. Simpson beating was “totally bogus.” USA Today said that they interviewed Steve Suwe, the public information officer for the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada to clarify the whole matter. Mr. Suwe said that such an incident never happened.

The web is obviously expanding. And with the expansion of the .com universe so to speak, groups are proposing new domains to cater to the insatiable web appetite.

While he already have .tv, .org., .net and many more, a group is proposing for .gay domain.

Scott Seitz, CEO of dotGay said during an interview with CNET that having a .gay domain is quite a challenging task with all the opposition and criticisms that need to be hurdled.



The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) was reported most recently to have opened new domain name extensions.

Seitz added,

"We're getting ready to see the Internet reborn again in a very different way. And [...] such a limited number of people were even aware of it. I got involved because I saw what the opportunity was for the gay community. .gay will be a venue for enhancing our ability to interact with each other as a community."

The group is seeing that anti-gay groups will be the first to prevent a .gay domain extension from being officially used in the web.

Borders Group Inc., one of the largest bookstores in the Unites States has already filed for bankruptcy according to several news reports on Wednesday. The filing for bankruptcy protection by Borders was attributed to the steady decline of sales in the past couple of years. The declining sales hurt the company especially with managing its outstanding debts.

The filing for bankruptcy by Border Group Inc. will cause the closure of almost one-third of its retail stores across the country.

As of December 25 of last year, Borders has listed its liabilities to be around $1.29 billion while its assets stand at $1.28 billion.



Borders Group President Mike Edward said that the company “does not have the capital resources it needs to be a viable competitor." Reports said that the steep popularity of online and digital books made mostly affected the steady decline in sales of the book store chain over the years.

Early this year, the company had already hinted of its filing for bankruptcy if could not meet its financial needs and could not find any new source of capital for the company.

Lara Logan, a correspondent of CBS News was reported by several news outfits to have "suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault” while she was covering the hostilities in Egypt which resulted to the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak.




CBS News Network released an official statement:

“On Friday February 11, the day Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square for a 60 MINUTES story when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.

In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering.

There will be no further comment from CBS News and Correspondent Logan and her family respectfully request privacy at this time.”

The CBS News chief foreign affairs correspondent together with her crew were also detained by Egyptian soldiers and Lara described it as "a very frightening experience and one that was repeated throughout the day for us."

Lara Logan, 39, is expected to be released from hospital on Wednesday.

Child star Frankie Muniz is at the center of controversy as he was reported to have gotten into an intense fight with his girlfriend Elycia Turnbow. The fight turned nasty that reports said it resulted into Muniz putting a gun into the head of Turnbow. Moreover, the child star was said to have punched his girlfriend.

Police authorities said on its report that Frankie Muniz showed a suicidal act by putting the gun on his head. Turnbow said on the report that Frankie “grabbed a gun and held it to his head, possibly with the intent of committing suicide."




Muniz however said that it was Turnbow who had hit him with which he fell down and went to the hospital for a check up. He also bluntly denied any gun-totting incident.

"I love her too much. She is the woman I want to marry,” said Frankie.

On the other hand, after the alleged incident, the two were reported to be back on each other’s arms as if nothing happened. TMZ reported that the former star of "Malcolm in the Middle" went out for a romantic date Saturday night at Scottsdale. The romance was reported to have continued days after.

A Scottish Deerhound was hailed as the Best in Show and at the same time America’s Top Dog during the 2011 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on Tuesday.

Hickory, the 5-year old Deerhound bested 2,600 entries during the 135th Annual Westminster Dog Show that was held in New York.

Foxcliffe Hickory Wind’s handler Angela Lloyd said,

“This dog isn’t used to cities or venues this size…It is used to chasing squirrels and deer all day on a big farm.”

During the announcement of the winner, a judge said,

"Scottish Deerhound ... is exactly the same like I studied in the standard that was about 150 years ago. Outstanding dog. Moving and type was super. All the others were wonderful."

The tech world was quite busy lately as rumors of new gadgets are surfacing more frequently.
One of the hottest topics to date is the upcoming release of the iPad2. But even before it is released in the market, rumors are already circulating of the release of its newer version iPad3 on Fall. That was quite real quick huh.

Anyways, with the prominence of smartphones and cheaper and smaller mobile gadgets powered by Android, Apple is rumored to be already working on the release of its iPhone Nano. The iPhone Nano will be the next model after iPhone 4. The mini-iPhone is expected to be smaller and of course cheaper than its predecessors.





Wall Street Journal reported that some people had already seen the mobile gadget. It said,

"One of the people, who saw a prototype of a new iPhone several months ago, said the new device is intended to be sold alongside the current line of iPhones and would be about half the size of the iPhone 4. The phone, one of its codenames is N97, would be available to mobile carriers at about half the price of Apple's main line of iPhones, the person said."

Expected price for iPhone Nano will not go higher than $200.

The gadget was said to give customers free access to MobileMe of Apple.

Of course, Apple has not given any word about this whole rumor given their notoriety when it comes to security and secrecy of the gadgets they are developing.

Controversial golfer Tiger Woods was caught spitting on the green of the 12th hole on Sunday according to several news sites.

It was during the final round of the Dubai Desert Classic that Tiger Woods was spitting on the ground after he missed a par putt on the twelfth hole. Sports commentators immediately gave their criticisms of the former number 1 golfer.

Ewen Murray from Sky Sports was caught saying,

"Disgusting, what he has just done there. But there are some parts of him that are just arrogant and petulant. Somebody now has to come behind him and maybe putt over his spit. It does not get much lower than that."

With his action, Tiger Woods was fined by the European Tour.

A judge ordered a man with a low IQ to be banned from having sex and is now subject to “close supervision” by authorities to ensure that he follow the High Court’s order.

The subject of this very unusual court order is a 41-year old man who is into a same-sex relationship.

A local council allegedly decided that the man’s “vigorous sex drive” was inappropriate in relation to his IQ of 48. They said that with such an IQ and having “moderate” learning disability, the man definitely does not know what he was doing.

At one point, the man at the center of this very odd news was prevented by a psychiatrist to undergo sex education. The psychiatrist said that subjecting the man to sex-ed would only make him more confused.




The issue sparked debates as regards to the issue of civil liberty.

But for Justice Mostyn, the issue is crucial as it is considered to be “legally, intellectually and morally” complex . Part of the decision of the judge reads:

“I therefore make a declaration that at the present time Alan does not have the capacity to consent to and engage in sexual relations.

“In such circumstances it is agreed that the present régime for Alan's supervision and for the prevention of future sexual activity is in his best interests.”

But there could be some relief whenever the 41-year old man feels some urging.
“Since then Alan has been subjected to close supervision to prevent any further sexual activity on his part” except when he is alone in his bedroom, said the report.

The judge said, that since sex is the most basic of human functions, it requires an understanding and awareness of the “mechanics of the act” and more importantly, the “health risks involved.”

Kate Middleton has sent out a complaint to social networking giant about her Facebook account being suspended.

Since her account got suspended on Thursday, Kate reportedly was not able to access her contacts and photos. Facebook told her that she had registered a fake name.

Truth is, Kate Middleton is a true person. She is 29 years old and works as a healthcare assistant in Kingsway, Northants.

This Kate is no Kate Middleton who is the fiancé of Prince William.

"I still can't get on, I've had no contact from Facebook about the situation or what they are going to do,” Kate said.

Facebook however has already clarified the issue and admitted that they have committed an error.

It said,

“We review thousands of pieces of content every day and takes action to ensure Facebook remains a safe and trusted environment for everyone. Of course, we make an occasional mistake. This is an example. When this happens, and it's brought to our attention, we work quickly to resolve the issue.”

A case of online mistaken identity, hehehehe!

The family of former Department of National Defense and AFP Chief of Staff Angelo Reyes had already issued an official statement after the controversial public figure reportedly committed suicide early Tuesday morning.

Authorities said that Sec. Angelo Reyes committed suicide around 7 AM at the Loyola Memorial Park.

The official statement of the Reyes Family was issued through Atty. Alentajan.

Angelo Reyes, a loving husband to our mother and a dedicated father to us, his children in mourning, is no more.

As we pray for the eternal repose of his soul, we ask that we be allowed the privacy to understand and find meaning in this tragedy.

Words do not do justice to what we are feeling right now. Words after all, contributed vastly to our having lost our beloved Angie.

Nonetheless, we find comfort in the outpouring of symphaties and prayers of our father.

We find strength in our unwavering belief that all his life, our father served our country with honor, dedication and integrity.

The Philippine national football team is set to face the Mongolians at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City for the AFC Challenge Cup.

The Philippine Azkals are already ready but they said that they will not be too complacent against the Mongolians who are ranked 182 in the world. The Philippines is ranked 152nd.

The Mongolian football team may be rusted as their last outing dates back in 2009. However, this is not a reason for the Azkals to be overconfident as Mongolia is fielding a young team which means that this team is hungry and aggressive.

“I myself don’t have an idea about them (Mongolia), except that we’re ranked higher than them and that they lost to Guam .”

With a new coach under Weiss, the Azkals are expected to be more aggressive. They are also expected to show more offensive plays on the match on Wednesday.

The former Chief of Staff and Defense Secretary Angelo Reyes was reported early Tuesday to have passed away after apparently committing suicide.

The incident of Reyes shooting himself happened at the burial site of his parents at the Loyola Memorial Park around 7 AM. He was immediately brought to the Quirino Hospital around 7:30 AM. Doctors were said to have done their best to save Sec. Angelo Reyes but found no improvement. The wound doctors said was really fatal - a bullet wound on his chest. Doctors officially pronounced Sec. Reyes dead at 8:32 AM.

Witnesses said that Sec. Reyes visited the tomb of his parents early morning together with his 2 children and 2 bodyguards at the Loyola Memorial Park, Marikina. He reportedly asked his aides and children to leave him when he apparently shot himself.

The Lower House of Congress has made its own investigation of the plea-bargaining agreement today, which has also invited Sec. Angelo Reyes.



During the past weeks, Reyes has been one of the controversial figures of the alleged corruption in the Philippine military during his stint as Chief of Staff. He was accused by Mr. Rabusa to have received P50 million in “pabaon”.

The President has already expressed it sadness over the death of Sec. Reyes.

Sec. Angelo Reyes led the military on withdrawing their support to former President Joseph Estrada during the People Power 2. He was then taken various cabinet positions under Gloria Arroyo like that of the Department of Defense, Department of Interior and Local Government and the Department of Environment.

Danaher Corporation is going to buy Beckman Coulter for an estimated amount of $5.8 billion in cash said reports on Monday.

Danaher was reported to have agreed to pay $83.50 a share as a tender offer for the maker of diagnostic research equipment’s shares.

H. Lawrence Culp Jr., President and Chief Executive of Danaher said on a statement:

“Beckman Coulter is an iconic company with a great brand, broad reach and technology leadership; well positioned in the markets it serves.”

Danaher was said to have made a good pitch against other interested consortium.



On the other hand, Bob Hurley, Beckman Coulter’s President and Chief Executive said on a statement:

“Following a very comprehensive and competitive process, the board of directors voted unanimously to accept Danaher’s proposal. We believe this transaction maximizes Beckman Coulter shareholder value while strengthening the company’s position as a leader in biomedical testing to the benefit of our customers and their health care patients around the world.”

Super Bowl XLV between the Green Bay Packers and Steelers was really close. The game ended with the Green Bay winning with the Super Bowl 2011 score of 31-25.

Looking at the score, we can say that the game was real close.

Worthy to take note too is the performance of Rodgers who really made the difference for the Green Bay Packers. With his great performance during the postseason, Packers got their NFL championship in 14 years. And what a way to celebrate the victory too is by getting the Vince Lombardi Trophy, the trophy named for their former coach.

The question will tell us of how really close the game until the Packers made a break away.

Super Bowl 2011 was exciting not only to the two teams that battled it out but also because televiewers are also awaiting the different Super Bowl ads and commercials. At the end of the game, there will rise as the winner; on this particular 2011 match, it was the Green Bay Packers. Green and yellow reigned supreme.

Another one is of what commercial or ad is the best for this year’s Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl 2011 was a great success despite Christina Aguilera’s rendition of the national anthem that came with some changing of lyrics. Well, she has already apologized for it though.

The two-minute commercial features Chrysler 200, a campaign for the automaker to make a good run in the mind-size car category. It will replace the Chrysler Sebring which has been dubbed as the most maligned car coming out of the automaker’s garage.

Archaeologists found a church estimated to be 1,500 years old on Wednesday in Israel.

The 1,500-year old Church was found in the Judean Hills. Archaeologists described the church as the well-preserved. Found were elaborately designed mosaic floors with images of foxes, fish, lions and peacocks.

The old church was said to have been probably used by worshipers around the fifth and seventh centuries BC. It was known as the Hirbet Madras.

Amir Ganor of the Israel Antiquities Authority described the church:

"It is unique in its craftsmanship and level of preservation."

Archaeologists also found a burial cave on one part of the Church. Scholars suggests that it could be the burial site of Zecharia, a figure on the Old Testament of the Bible.

A natural disaster described by authorities as a "monster, killer storm" will hit a big part of Australia over the next 24 hours. Authorities had already made efforts on making evacuation efforts in order to save the lives of Australians who has not yet recovered from the massive flooding the past weeks.

The storm is said to register at 20mph and measures 360 miles wide and wind will reach at 180mph. Its strength is described to that of Hurricane Katrina that wrecked havoc in the United States.

Authorities in Australia said that Cyclone Yasi will make landfall at around at midnight (2pm GMT) near Innisfail. Around 400,000 were said to be living the path where the Cyclone Yasi is going to pass through.

The massive storm set to hit the land down under has already stirred an online buzz. Australians have vented out their frustrations and fears through the social networks.

Authorities have already used the internet in order to constantly update Australians about the storm.

Former first daughter Barbara Bush expressed her vocal stand on the issue of same-sex marriage, a stand that is opposite of her parents who are staunch Republicans.

On a video campaign entitled "New Yorkers for Marriage Equality”, Barbara said that she supports equality. The campaign is sponsored by Human Rights Campaigns.

A part of the video shows Barbara Bush saying,

"I'm Barbara Bush, and I'm a New Yorker for marriage equality. New York is about
fairness and equality. And everyone should have the right to marry the person
that they love. Join us."

Human Rights Campaign is known to support issues involving the rights of LGBTs or the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities.

Former governor of South Carolina is at the center of a controversy as photos of his purported mistress were released online.

Mark Sanford’s mistress was identified as María Belén Chapur.

The photos of María Belén Chapur were released by Radar Online showing her on a bikini and taking a summer vacation with the former governor. However, several online entertainment sites now indicate that Chapur is not anymore the mistress of Sanford but is now his formal girlfriend.

Photos of Amazonian tribes were released by Brazil in a move to protect the indigenous people living in the jungle.

The photos were released by the National Indian Foundation (FUNAI) of Brazil. The foundation aims to protect these people from illegal loggers who threaten to destroy the Amazon forests and in effect annihilate the tribes.

Stephen Cory, director of the rights organization Survival International said that the government should step up on its efforts to protect those people living in the Amazon.

"Illegal loggers will destroy this indigenous people. It is essential that the Peruvian government stop them before it is too late.”

FUNAI said that there are about 67 tribes in Brazil who are living on their own world with no regular contact with the modern world outside the jungles.

The president of France was very angry after hackers posted on his official Facebook Page that he is set to step down from his post.

Telegraph reported:

"In a misspelled and often ungrammatical post illustrating the havoc that hackers can cause, Mr Sarkozy is meant to have written: "Dear compatriots, given the exceptional circumstances our country is experiencing, I have decided in my spirit and conscience not to run for office again at the end of my mandate in 2012."

Nicolas Sarkozy cleared the issue and posted a message on his official Facebook Page.

"My Facebook account was hacked into this evening, perhaps to remind me that no system is infallible.”

And while people are calling for him to step down being one of the most unpopular President of France, he is actually saying that he may once again make a run for the highest government position.

Google had unravaled that Microsoft’s search engine Bing has been copying the search results of Big G.

The report of Bing copying from Google has been made by Danny Sullivan at Search Engine Land.

Amit Singhal, Google Fellow said to FoxNews:

“Our testing has concluded that Bing is copying Google web search results.”
Singhal was disappointed over their discovery saying that competition as regards to search engines is acceptable. However, he said that copying the results of another search engine he said is not even close to “innovation.”

With the stinging accusation, Bing made a blunt denial of copying but also said that it could be one of the results of the different approaches they used. Stefan Weitz, Director of Bing said:

“We use multiple signals and approaches in ranking search results. The overarching goal is to do a better job determining the intent of the search so we can provide the most relevant answer to a given query.”

Political satirist Juana Change has a new video. And although she has been one of those who campaigned for President Noynoy Aquino, her newest video is all about the new president.

Juana Change on the video talks about President Aquino’s controversial Porsche car.

Malacañang, through Secretary Ricky Carandang said that they haven’t seen the video yet and don’t care about it.

Carandang also took a swipe at Juana Change saying,

“She says she is a supporter. Then you have that (video). Hindi ko alam. We don’t know what her perspective is right now. I can't respond to everybody who criticizes the President. I don’t give it a lot of thought. There are so many other more important issues. So I’m not going to be upset about another critic of the President.”

A monster snowstorm is hitting the central part of the United States and is also expected to move Midwest. This monster snowstorm may soon cause power outages and lots of damage to private and public properties.

In a dramatic manner, NASA has captured from space this snowstorm giving us a glimpse of how massive this one is. The photos were captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) from the NASA's Terra satellite.

NASA described:

“Visible and infrared images and animations of the storm's clouds and movement are created every 15 minutes by the NASA GOES Project at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md. using data from GOES-11 and GOES-13, the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites. The GOES-13 and GOES-11 satellites that cover the eastern and western U.S., respectively, are operated by NOAA.”
